"I found Avanti hair salon about a year and a half ago after moving from Bergen county and wanting a closer salon. I was very very nervous to try a new salon, but Maribel was super amazing and always does what I ask. I regularly come here for partial highlights and have had a haircut (layers, face frame, and a trim) twice. If you're a blonde and love gorgeous light blonde highlights, make an appointment with Maribel ASAP!
Side note- I style my hair myself so I can't review that, but Maribel's hair always looks great, so I'm sure she does an amazing job with that as well ;)"

"I wanted bangs, but I just moved to Hoboken so I was very nervous about picking a new salon for such a drastic change. I chose Avanti based on the reviews here, and I'm glad I did! Jenny really knew what she was doing, and she listened to exactly what I wanted and what I didn't want, and helped me figure out what would look best on me. She also was able to answer every question I had about styling and products.
The atmosphere is super average, but I don't go to salons for the atmosphere, I go for a good haircut, and that's what I got."

"This is by far the best salon in Hoboken or any other area nearby. The prices are beyond reasonable and the quality of work is incredible.
Kyle is a true gem- he does very meticulous work and doesn't make you feel rushed or unattended. My boyfriend and i have both been coming to him for a few years now and we've never been disappointed by his work. Today was my most recent appointment, in which he did beach blonde balayage and i love it! He was so extensive and even took me outside to check the color in the sun to ensure it was perfect. He's also very outgoing and fun to talk to; I would recommend him to anyone for any service."

"I consider this place to be a hidden Hoboken gem. I have been to numerous (expensive) salons throughout Hoboken since moving here, and after coming to Avanti, I haven't gone to any others since! Prices are extremely reasonable for the area, and my hair cut always comes out exactly as I asked. My stylist (Maribel) and I always have a nice consultation prior to my cut and I feel like she truly listens and works to create the style I am looking for. She never cuts off too much length and it always comes out exactly as we discussed. I go here for my color too, which always turns out very natural, just the way I like it. This place may not look like your typical upscale "city salon" when you walk in, but you can trust the stylists here and will not walk out disappointed! They are also flexible and are great about fitting you in for an appointment at the last minute if you need one. I would recommend coming here if you're looking for a no-thrills Hoboken salon that gives affordable, reliable cuts time after time. I will not be going anywhere other than Avanti for my hair cut and color - they do not disappoint."

Maria, the receptionist, is Maribel'ssister and was also very sweet. Reasonably priced ($40 for a wash and cut) so that I can afford to get my haircut every two months as necessary.

"I just moved to Hoboken and didn't know where to go. I was recommended to go to someone who would come to your apt to do your hair. I wanted blonde highlights and it came out brown, red, blonde, and orange. It was horrible. I went to Avanti after reading reviews about Maribel. She is AMAZING. She turned my orange hair into beautiful blonde highlights and didn't overdue my hair bc she didn't want to cause any permanent damage (since I just had gotten it colored the day before). "One of the best salon experiences I've had in awhile. Was looking for a new stylist and after reading the reviews on Maribel on Yelp, I decided to check Avanti out. All the positive reviews are accurate. She's meticulous, experienced, thorough and extremely helpful if you ask for her opinion in regards to color and style. My hair has gotten dramatically healthier since my first visit with her. My appointments are spaced out longer then I used to need to touch up my roots because she does such an intricate job with highlights getting the color so close to the roots. She always tells me when I don't need something (thought I needed toner and she said it was unnecessary with the color - so apparently I was getting ripped off by another salon). Not to mention, the salon itself has friendly, amazing customer service and always goes above and beyond to accommodate last minute appointments. Glad the salon has so many supportive reviews on Yelp that I was able to find them and will definitely recommend the salon and Maribel to anyone else looking for a new stylist!"
